Hollywood Stars Use YouTube To Support Paul Watson

Paul Watson, marine conservationist and captain of the Sea Shepperd, has some great friends who are coming to his aid by way of video messages on YouTube.

Child star, Zach Callison, Baywatch girl, Pamela Anderson and MacGyver's Richard Dean Anderson, are all part of a campaign that asks for support to free Watson from charges he faces in Costa Rica.

In their message, the stars say it is a political issue and that their friend's life is in danger if he is sent to Costa Rica.

The stars say the "Taiwanese shark-finning mafia" in Costa Rica will not doubt will have Watson killed once he is on Costa Rican soil.

Watson was arrested in Germany on a warrant from Costa Rica and is now free on bail waiting on an extradition request by the Ticos, which, according to the Tribunal Penal de San José, is in the final stages of translation of the document.

In Costa Rica, the Canadian national, faces charges of attempted "fraufragio" (shipwrecking) and injuries for the events that occurred in 2002, when Capt. Watson and a crew aboard the Ocean Warrior (later renamed the Farley Mowat) were en route to Costa Rica to sign an agreement with the Costa Rican government to protect and patrol Cocos Island, when some 230 kilometres off the coast of Guatemala the Ocean Warrior came upon the Costa Rican fishing boat, Veradero.
